Around 2001 the Patijnenburg brand of Connectra original cable reels came under pressure from anonymous Far East imitations. The assignment included a product line refresh with new models and a new brand identity.
With a mix of existing, new and modified injection molding tools the full product line got a make over. New features were introduced, such as the folding winder handle for the larger models and the winder knob for the smaller cable-boxes.
The reel versions were made available in 3 product groups: HOME, TOOL and OUTDOOR, each with different colors, features and cable specification and color. A colorful product card was developed.
Even as all the new features, cards included, quickly went into copy versions as well, the Connectra products are still being sold.
